The quaint area of Kaleici with its narrow cobble stoned streets and historic Turkish and Greek homes are in the old center of Antalya. There are many cute boutique hotels in this section. The larger modern and comfortable new hotels such as Sheraton are along the cost above Konyaalti and Lara beaches.
During summers the tourists from Turkey and all over the World crowd the beaches and night life. Most people wake up late and enjoy the sun shine and warm Mediterranean waters as early as April and as late as November. You may see mostly Scandinavians and Canadians swimming during winter months as well.
Antalya has now an established middle class so shopping has become a favorite pass time for locals as well as tourists. The tree-lined avenue along the cliff-top to Konyaaltı is one of Antalya's best-known shopping locations. The other major shopping street is Işıklar Caddesi.
